Healthcare Flooring Installation in San Francisco
Infection-control-compliant flooring for hospitals, clinics, and medical offices. OSHPD experience.
Why Peacock for Healthcare Flooring
Healthcare flooring is one of the most regulated specs we install. Infection control, low-VOC requirements, OSHPD compliance, and the operational reality that the floor cannot interrupt patient care all stack on top of each other. The product matters, but so does the prep, the seam-welding, the integral cove base, and the schedule.
Peacock has installed flooring at UCSF, in clinics across San Francisco, and in medical offices and dental practices for decades. Our crews understand the protocols. We use proper containment, low-VOC adhesives and finishes, antimicrobial materials when specified, and we coordinate with infection prevention staff before mobilization.
Schedule is the other half of the job. We work after hours, on weekends, in phased rooms, and around procedure schedules so patient care is not disrupted. We handle the compliance paperwork, OSHPD submissions, and as-built documentation so the project closes cleanly.

What flooring is appropriate for clinical and patient-care areas?
Heat-welded sheet vinyl or homogeneous sheet with integral flash cove is the standard for patient rooms, exam rooms, and corridors. For operating rooms and imaging we move to conductive or static-dissipative assemblies as the equipment and facility standards require.
Can you work during normal facility operations?
Yes. We phase healthcare work around clinical schedules, set up ICRA-compliant barriers, and coordinate negative-air containment with the facility's infection-control team. Most occupied-facility work runs evenings, weekends, and unit-swing windows.
How do you handle infection control during installation?
We follow ICRA risk-class barriers, anteroom procedures, HEPA filtration where required, and clean-as-you-go protocols. We work directly with the infection preventionist on the project to confirm the ICRA assessment before mobilization.
Do you work with OSHPD/HCAI-permitted projects?
Yes. We install flooring scopes on HCAI-permitted projects in coordination with the inspector of record. Submittals, product compliance, and observation are part of standard scope on hospital work.
What about long-term care and skilled nursing?
Long-term care and skilled nursing have their own priorities — fall prevention, glare control, and a residential feel. See our long-term care flooring page for resident-area flooring approaches.
