    Why Peacock for Commercial Carpet

Carpet projects almost always run on a deadline. A new tenant is moving in, a lease is turning over, or a building manager wants the lobby refreshed before a board walk-through. Distributors and out-of-town contractors quote two to three weeks of lead time before they can even start. Peacock keeps Interface, Mohawk, Shaw, and Patcraft inventory on the floor of our SF warehouse, which means we can pull, cut, and stage in the same week you call.

Carpet tile is the workhorse of commercial flooring. It hides traffic patterns, lets you replace damaged sections instead of the whole floor, and works in offices, lobbies, and common areas. Where a seamless look matters (executive suites, conference rooms), broadloom is still the right call. We install both, often in the same project, and we manage the demo, disposal, and subfloor prep so the GC does not have to coordinate three trades.

Most of our carpet work happens after hours and on weekends so tenants are not displaced. Our crews show up at 6pm, work through the night, and the floor is open by morning.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a typical commercial carpet installation take?

Most SF office carpet tile installations run between two and five working days per floor, depending on demo, prep, and furniture moves. We coordinate after-hours and weekend phasing when the space has to stay operational during the install.

Do you handle furniture moves and existing carpet removal?

Yes. Our scope can include lift-and-shift of systems furniture, removal and disposal of existing carpet or VCT, moisture and flatness testing, patch and skim of the substrate, and final install plus punch.

Carpet tile or broadloom for an SF office?

For most SF tenant-improvement and corporate offices we recommend carpet tile because damaged tiles can be swapped out individually, replacement stock can be warehoused, and modular install allows wire and floor-box access. Broadloom still makes sense in executive offices, hospitality, and acoustic-sensitive rooms.

Can you match an existing carpet pattern for a partial-floor install?

Often yes, if the original product is still in production or close-out. We pull attic stock from your facility, identify the manufacturer and style, and source matching dye lots before scheduling so the patched area blends with the existing field.

    Do you carry inventory locally?

Yes. We stage common carpet tile and adhesives in our 16,000 sq ft Bayview warehouse so we can mobilize quickly for SF projects without waiting on factory lead times.
