School & University Flooring in San Francisco
Planned around your academic calendar. Carpet tile, VCT, and LVP for K-12 and higher education.
Why Peacock for Education Flooring
Education flooring projects live and die by the calendar. The floor needs to be down, cured, and ready before students walk back in, and the only real install windows are summer break, winter break, and the occasional long weekend. Miss the window and the project gets pushed a full year.
Peacock has installed flooring at SF State and across SF schools and university campuses for decades. We understand the procurement side too. We are LBE/WBE/SBE certified, we know the prevailing wage and DSA processes, and we have the documentation flow that K-12 and higher-ed buyers expect.
Most of all, we know how to deliver inside a tight summer window. We mobilize crews, stage materials in advance, work weekends, and run multiple rooms in parallel so the project is buttoned up before the first day of class.

Can a campus or school flooring project finish inside a summer window?
Yes — summer-window scoping is most of our K-12 and university work. We pre-order material in spring, mobilize as soon as the last day of school ends, and target substantial completion before staff in-service week. Demo, prep, install, and punch all fit inside ten to twelve weeks for typical scopes.
Do you do phased and after-hours work during the school year?
Yes. We routinely break a classroom or corridor scope into evening and weekend phases so instruction is not disrupted. We coordinate with the facilities lead on egress, fire watch, and badging.
What flooring is best for classrooms?
Carpet tile for sound dampening, comfort, and modular replacement; LVT for messy classrooms, STEM, and art rooms; sheet vinyl for science and culinary labs. We help facilities directors match the spec to the use of the space.
Do you work with district small-business and local-business programs?
Yes. We hold LBE, WBE, SBE, and MBE certifications and routinely participate in SFUSD, community college, and CSU procurements that include local- and small-business preferences.
What about gymnasium and multi-purpose flooring?
Sport-rated rubber and resilient assemblies are the right call for gyms and multi-purpose rooms. We do not self-perform wood sport floors but coordinate cleanly with the wood-floor subcontractor when wood is specified.
